This GVT - seems a little sketchy...

Happy FINALLY summer for us everyone!
I know that friends are enjoying their 6th week of vacation,
I am just glad that it's official as of this afternoon for us in Virginia. YAY!

Now that there's more time to play, come and join us in this week's GVT challenge,
using this awesome sketch by Maria:
Thank you Maria! I love all the possibilities of this layout. :)
And here is my card using the new Baby Anya & Ian set:

Okay, confession time. I actually owned the original set waaaaay back when the Farm was still young.
So I used a few of the accessories from that set with this sweet baby boy. :)
I paired him with Recollection papers from Michaels, and paper pieced his bib and beanie.

Come on over and join in on the sketchy fun!

TPE Challenge #204

Happy wonderful Monday everyone!
I am finally able to breathe a bit as my kids start their summer vaca tomorrow.
YES! Tomorrow! I know, how long can they drag out the 2013 school year? lol!
But in light of their summer season, The Pink Elephant has a wonderful challenge this week:

A photo inspiration!
Ahhh...lanterns, oceans, starfish. Love all of it.
Here is my card using an adorable image and sentiment from Whimsie Doodles:

The closest I had to a starfish was an oyster. :)
It was such a fun and easy image to color up using light blues and grays,
completely inspired by the cool colors of TPE's photo inspiration.
I am a few days late (so sorry Jen!!) with my Deconstructed Sketch sample as well:

This fabulous sketch was designed by the one and only Sheri Gilson,
who also happens to be a co-head honcho over at TPE. How sweet is that? :)
Come on over and join in on the fun!
You have until next Sunday to show us your work, click here to hop over to TPE's blog.
Be inspired by the colors, the beach theme, the summer vibe.

Have a beautiful Monday everyone, thank you for being you!

Once you settle into your craft room be sure to join in on our FFF challenge for the week:

WAVE YOUR BANNERS (or FLAGS)

For my sample I used the adorable new Baby Anya and the Bantastic set:

This little baby girl is so sweet!
I paired her with a sweet pack from Michaels called Baby Mine from We R Memory Keepers.
The designs are so fresh and cute, no need for additional sentiments (yay!).

Come on over and join in on the Banner/Flag challenge!

Why it's the Deconstructed Sketch's challenge no. 105 courtesy of Sheri!

I love it, it looks just like Sheri and her fabulous layered creations.

Retro Fresh Challenge - LAYERS!

Happy Wednesday everyone!
I survived yesterday's Kings Dominion trip with a group of 12 year olds - YAY!
Today starts a month long challenge over at the Greeting Farm.
Every month the DT gets to choose a Retro Fresh theme,
and this month I have chosen:

LAYERS

No CAS cards allowed!
For my card I used Showtime Anya (retired) and the popcorn bucket from the same set.
I layered on some fun scraps to coordinate with Anya,
then cut out a ticket digi designed by the talented Jami Bova.

Come on over and play along with us!
An entire month to create - how cool is that timeline? ;)
and be sure to use a RETRO image from TGF (6 months or older).
Have a wonderful day everyone,
thank you for being YOU!

GVT - Girly Girl!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
As you are reading this, I am prepping for/headed to/in the process of
chaperoning a field trip to an amusement park - yikes!
A whole day of 12 year-olds screaming on roller coasters should be interesting...;)

But while you are at home relaxing in your air conditioned craft space,
come along and join in on the fun over at TGF's newest challenge:

GIRLY GIRL

Yes! Let's see those girls being represented on your cards and projects.
Any TGF female image will do - digi, clear, or rubber stamp is perfect!

Here is my sample using WS Charlotte Chic:

I've been wanting to try some groovy hair on her because of that beautiful 'fro. heehee!
I paired her with MME Summer Splash papers and the newest Sunday Sketch & Stamp layout.
She was also stamped in Memento Ink {Angel Pink} for the no border technique.
Come on over and join in on the Girly Girl fun!
Click here to hop over to the blog to see the beautiful samples,
this is also where you'll link up your work.

Have a super day everyone! Thank you for coming by!

TPE Challenge #203

Happy Monday everyone!
It's time for a new challenge over at The Pink Elephant!
This week we want you to create for:

FATHER'S DAY

What a great way to get a jump start on cards for Sunday!
Here is my card using a freebie image from Beyond the Fringe:

My hubby is in the military so the only time he wears a tie is for church. ;)
However, my dad in law is a Vice Principal at a high school, so this is definitely going to him!
Colored the image with copics, matching it up to my MME Follow Your Heart papers.
Nothing fancy here, it's always nice to make a male card without the froo froos. heehee!
I am also entering in on the following blogs:
Crazy 4 Challenges: Father's Day
Scrap it with a song: Suit and Tie

Come on over and join in on the fun!
Click here to hop over to The Pink Elephant's blog to see what the other designers have created.
There are cards and scrapbook layout to inspire you, this is also where you link up your work.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend?
We spent it celebrating our son's high school graduation:

Here's our Hawaii born son, graduating from Virginia but with handmade leis. :)
My brother in law and sister back home made sure to send a touch of love for this special day!

Thank you for swinging by to see me, enjoy your Monday everyone!

the Deconstructed Sketch #104

Happy Thursday everyone!
It's time for a new challenge over at the Deconstructed Sketch.
If you haven't played along, you must see all of Jen's wonderful layouts -
perfect for when you need some creative mojo.

For today's sketch I used No Bites from Saturated Canary:

I paired this non threatening cutie with Basic Grey's What's Up papers,
a fun doily from WalMart, and an American Crafts rub-on.
I love those things because they can go anywhere!

Are you ready to play along? Here is this week's sketch:

Rotate it, flip it, but definitely have fun with it!
If you're trying to envision what other cards would look like,
then come see what the fabulous design team has done with it:

Then come on by to the Deconstructed Sketch's blog here to enter in on the fun.
Thank you so much for coming by to see me!
I am putting on my Cinderella apron today and scrubbing down the house -
my in laws arrive this afternoon for our son's high school graduation. YAY!
Have a wonderful Thursday everyone. :)

1-5-5 what could that mean?

Happy Garden Variety Tuesday everyone!
Today Peggy is diving into a fun new challenge, celebrating the 155th day of the year:

1-5-5
Use 1 of something, 5 of another thing, and 5 of yet another element!
How fun is that?

For my card I am finally debuting the new WINKY BEAN:

I know, I've been playing with my onesie die so much but I'm excited to finallly show her off!
Winky Bean is adorable, she reminds me of Sailor Moon (showing my age here).
I love the Beans because they already have a scene and sentiment all stamped in one,
and if you so desire, cutting her out or stamping her just as an image is a great option too. :)
For my theme I used 1 image, 5 eyelets (yes! Eyelets!), and 5 scraps of ribbon.
I tried to coordinate it with my Simple Stories {Summer Fresh} papers:

I am also playing along in the following challenges:
Craftin Desert Divas: Ribbon or twine
Crafty Boots Challenge: Rainbows
Make My Monday: Ribbon or Lace
Paper Playtime: 2 or more ribbons
Craftin' Musketeers: Use a stamped image

Come on over to The Greeting Farm's blog to enter in on the fun.
1-5-5 will truly get your creativity going, I can't wait to see what you create!
Have a wonderful day, thank you so much for coming by to visit me.
