A double challenge kind of day!

Happy beautiful Monday everyone!
It's nice to have an extended weekend, as I never feel like 2 days are enough. ;)

This week begins two new challenges at my favorite places:

PRIMARY COLORS

I couldn't resist combining the two and making a whimsical type of card.
For TPE's challenge, we want to see you include something with print (or text) on your card.
The papers are from October Afternoon's Sidewalk line,
 my current favorite with happy spring colors and fun playful patterns.
It has a story written all over the 8x8 sheet, I think it's of the Ugly Duckling.
For Monday Fun Day we want you to pull out all the primary colors of the wheel.
The red and blue butterflies are from an 8.5x11 set from The Greeting Farm called Spotlight,
 it's such a great kit of images and the cutest Anya!
{Sentiment is from an older Hope & Grace set.}

Come on over and join in on the fun!
You can see the beautiful samples by Ella's girls on TPE's blog here
and the fun primary lineup of the FFC designers here on the blog
Be sure to link up your work so we can pay you a visit.
Have a beautiful Monday everyone, thank you for coming by!

A side of chips!

Happy Friday everyone!
{Please scroll down to the latest challenge on the Farm - and see who we spied for this week's CASE card!}
This week over at Raise The Bar, we challenge you to use Chipboard on your card or project. Fun and easy, right? I love the way chipboard brings depth to the surface, having either a small embellishment or a large focal point makes a card pop.
For my project I altered mailboxes for Valentine's day. My kiddos were very surprised (it's been a long time since I've made something special other than food for them!) and were happy to find little goodies on the inside that I picked out for them. Only problem is, now Iz thinks it 're-loads' every morning and expects something new when he wakes up. :P
These are your standard Target mailboxes, usually $1 each but I bought these for a quarter a few years ago after V-Day. My younger 4 got mailboxes:
{here's the 4th one}

and the 2 older teenage boys got altered boxes:

I guess embellishments kind of multiply over time,
because I must say, I didn't realize I had so much chipboard.
The design team did such an amazing job with this challenge!
You can see all the projects here on RTB, this is also where you will link up your work.
Thank you so much for coming by everyone,
what are you working on this weekend?
Have a great day!

Friday Spy Day!

We spied, with our little eyes...
this adorable card from Lori Craig!

Happy beautiful Friday everyone!
Today is our weekly Friday Spy Day contest over at Farm Fresh Challenge Blog,
where we find awesome TGF cards in galleries to CASE.
This one is so sweetly done with pattern, twine, and great coloring.
Here is my take on this card using the same layout:

Do you remember this TGF set? This is the first time I've inked it up - ever!
It's called Wild Things and has cute little TGF critters and sentiments like this little birdie.
I masked this little bird and sponged clouds around it before using a nestie to cut out the circle.
I tried putting this against all possible cardstock colors and realized that I preferred the simplicity of just white. :) Something nice and clean about it. heehee!

Now come on over and see what the FFC Design Team has done with this sweet CASE card this week!
And if you have time, join in on the fun for your chance to win TGF stamps -
seriously, how could you resist that reward? :)
Have a beautiful day everyone!

TPE Challenge #134

Happy beautiful Monday everyone!
It's time for a new challenge over at The Pink Elephant, a photo inspiration from Paula Deen's site:
Mmmm...I don't know what I love more - the colors, patterns, or yummy food! ;)
Here is my take on this challenge with Cheeky Beach from The Greeting Farm:

I love her! She's so vintage sassy, I know my mom looked like this back in the day with dark flowy hair and a great tan growing up in Hawaii. ;)
I used different scraps of papers but used Stampin' Up for the turquoise base, I recently met a demo who was having an open house and discovered that she was the #1 rep for Stampin' Up in 2010. WOWZA, right? Total royalty, and sooo down to earth. I think we'll be friends for a while. lol!
I used Deconstructing Jen's current sketch for this card:

Come on over and join in on the fun! Click here to get to TPE's blog
and see what adorable cards the Design Team {aka Ella's girls} made. :)
Have a beautiful Monday everyone! Thank you so much for coming by.

TPE Challenge #134

Happy beautiful Monday everyone!
It's February 5th, which also means...

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY to THE PINK ELEPHANT!

Isn't that just the most exciting news?
I cannot believe it's been three years since I first became a follower of TPE,
eager to join in on the fabulous challenges they showcased every week.
And here I am, enjoying being one of Ella's Girls!

This week we are being sponsored, appropriately, by
(co-owner of The Pink Elephant with Sheri)

with the theme of

BIRTHDAY!

To celebrate, I chose the adorable image Ella (2), TPE's signature color of pink,
and tons of fun polka dots:

To pay homage, I even did some "Lori spots" all around her image,
as well as the current sketch from Deconstructing Jen's site:

As always please come by the blog to see the adorable samples by the Design Team,
and wish The Pink Elephant a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
{And many more!}
Have a wonderful day everyone, thank you so much for coming by!

{TGFSC2}

Happy beautiful Saturday everyone!
Last week TGF debuted a new exclusive sketch challenge on SCS and it was so well received!
This week I posted sketch challenge 2 and it is a great layout:

Flip it, rotate it, and be inspired by it!

Here is my birthday card using that sketch:

The Creepy Crew images are reallllly fun to color in.
While I prefer the sweeter faces at the Farm, this collection is a blast to go crazy with! :0)
Come on over to The Greeting Farm's SplitCoast Stampers page for more details,
and upload your cards to the gallery using keyword TGFSC2 so we can come and pay you a visit.
Don't forget to tag it with thegreetingfarm keyword as well, and drop a picture into your TGF Galleria.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, thank you for coming by!

Raise the Bar's new sketch

Hello again everyone!
{For this week's FFC Friday Spy Day, please scroll down to the earlier post - thank you!}
This week at Raise The Bar, we have a sponsor AND a sketch by the wonderful
*Melyssa Connolly of Whimsie Doodles*

Here is the sketch:
For my card I used the adorable Lollipop Girl:

Late one evening I had an idea to use twine to mimic those old fashioned lollipops.
It was so simple to do! Just put down a nice, thin layer of craft glue, then using a tool,
twirl the twine from inside the circle on out.
It was actually quite therapeutic, I'll be finding more images to use my twine on. ;)

Here are some challenges I'm joining in on :
Paper Pretties: ribbon or twine
Truly Scrumptious: Love and hearts

Come on over and join in on the sketchy fun!
You can see the beautiful (and I'm not kidding) samples
You have one week to participate for your chance to win a spot as a Guest Bar-Tender!
Have a beautiful day everyone!
