Come to Hawaii with me on this Tuesday Morning!

Hello everyone and a very Aloha Tuesday to you all!
I am so excited today because Tuesday Morning Sketches is being sponsored by Maureen "Mo" Manning!! EEK! Yes! The one and only fabulous Digital Pencil Too designer!
This week TMS is having a recipe challenge:

3 pieces of patterned paper
2 embellishments
1 flourish

And here is what I cooked up:

I was so excited to snag Kalei, she is one of my all time favorites from Mo's line. I know it's hard to choose from her array of awesome illustrations, but Kalei holds a special place in my heart. ;) I decided to follow the current sketch on Mo's challenge blog, flipped it so it worked with this image, and then thought it would be cute as a suspension card. This also works well with Crafty Calendar's current challenge of weather, and The Secret Crafter's Four Seasons challenge. Ahhh...a typical day in Hawaii! The twine is also the newest challenge at Creative Card Crew.

Here is what the back reveals when it spins:

Fun technique, I love making suspension cards!
Here is a closer look at Kalei's skirt, I printed it off twice and then popped it up on dimensionals:

My sweet hula girl was colored in with copics. Seriously, how in the world did we ever live without these?

Come on over and join the fun at Tuesday Morning Sketches! The winner receives a wonderful prize from Mo. Omword, the hardest part is having to choose which image you want, right?
Link up and see the wonderful designs the TMS DT dished up HERE. Thank you for coming to Hawaii with me! We now return back to the 50* Virigina weather... bleh. (heehee!)
*Love and lots of Aloha*

Happy Mo-Monday! :D

Hi everyone! Argh - the weekends are getting shorter, aren't they? I hope yours went well and that you are looking forward to a fun week ahead.

Well what's a Mo-Monday? It's my card for the day featuring one of Mo's stamps!

Maureen (aka Mo) is an illustrator who now has her images as digis for the crafting world to use. Her blog is fabulous, the store makes me feel like a kid in a fun art museum. I first saw one of her drawings on my friend Stef's blog. Then one day while on SCS, I visited a forum re: digis vs. rubber stamping. Ooh, an interesting and a sensitive topic for me. lol!

One of the replies was by Mo herself, so I sent a PM letting her know how eloquent she was with her post. She PM-d me back and we chatted a little. Not only am I a fan of her work but I can only dream of being paired with someone of her calliber when writing childrens' books! (I've tinkered with a few, unpublished of course, but for my own kiddos' enjoyment that is now lost somewhere in their coloring books.)

Here is a closer look at Sinatra:

I am not sure what prompted me to make a Christmas card, but having red and green glittery yarn really appealed to me. Sinatra is flocked in white and seems to be Santa's sleepy little helper...it's not easy having to assist with all those Christmas sweaters and scarves!
This sketch is by CPS, and believe it or not, a little tricky for me as I wanted Mo's signature visible. It took a couple of tries but the SU sentiment fit nicely to the side.

Thank you all for coming by on this wonderful Monday! I hope you all enjoy your day. :D
*Love and Aloha*
