TGIF everyone! Welcome to my first entry of my blog, which is also the same name of my soon-to-be online store. I will have more deets on that in the near future!
Blogging has always been of interest to me, moreso for crafting purposes than to share my personal life. I am a private (read: boring) person so this is a great way for me to channel my creative energy into modern technology.
I have always been thrifty (more out of necessity than choice) so finding new life in everyday objects comes naturally to me. Every Friday I will feature a 'Get-Oh Fabulous' idea. While I can't guarantee that you'll be inspired, I hope it makes you look at things in a whole different way.
I will start off with something basic so that I won't dissuade you from returning. {BTW, 'Get-Oh' is a tongue in cheek version of the real slang. DH thought it was a little - uh - ghetto to call it that. ;)}
For today, I am featuring a handy way to store little embellishments. This may have been done before, if I ever CASE an idea, I will be sure to give the original creator proper credit. In this case, it was an 'Aha!' moment at a yard sale. For $3, I picked up this spinning spice rack. All the names were still on the top of the lids so I covered them with CB'd flowers. I thought about making it fancier with primas, but I have a 2 yo DD who loves to pick any type of fluffy flower and...well, you get the point.
These jars were already cleaned out but one did have a slight scent of cinnamon which gives my brads a nice olfactory touch. I have this on my craft table, right at arm's reach. It's also a wonderful tool for an indecisive embellishment person as it spins smoothly, making your hemming and hawing actually a fun process. Scout out yard sales, craigslist or thrift stores, these are pretty easy to find. :D
Have a wonderful day everyone~
*Love and aloha*
