My newest addiction...

...is to join challenges. I haven't done any in a long time, and I felt like my cards were getting stale. And predictable. And boring.
One of the challenges I worked on this morning was for Lori Boyd's Cuttlebug Weave Sketch Hour:
This is a really fun challenge, she makes use of all those scraps that are leftover from projects. I happened to have shades of grays and browns and the more I weaved, the more it turned into a basket idea.
The tutorial is on the Cuttlebug Challenge site (click on link above). I ran the woven area through my CB with my dots folder, then cut out a 'frame' in white cs with my nesties label folder. I raised it off of the card base with dimensionals, then added the primas, handcut leaves and the tag.

And speaking of this site, I also made this card for the Cuttlebug Be Inspired #15 challenge that had a beautiful layout by the one and only Becky Fleck:
I envisioned a little caterpillar when I saw the sketch with all of the pretty cascading circles. I am a warm weather type of person and cannot wait for spring to arrive. All the circles were punched out and run through with my dots folder (I seem to use this one quite often). I added beads for his antennae and googly eyes to add character. Every other dot is raised on dimensionals for depth.

And finally, here is a card I made for Anki's sketch on the Roses on Paper site:

The layout was really pretty and full of layers, something that I had to try really hard to put together. Her requirement was to use a stamp from a select group of companies, one of them being The Greeting Farm (oh yeah, you've heard me say those 3 words quite a lot here!!!). I chose to use Lily, one of TGF's latest digital image. The challenge also requested spring colors so I made her into a pastel Valentine's day card. I also used a Fiskars heart edge punch and really fun DP that I bought on clearance at M's. I hope you are enjoying your weekend and working on some fun project. Have a great day!
*Love and Aloha*
