A perfect Sunday

Happy Sunday!!! I hope your weekend is going well? We are having the most beautiful Sunday here in VA - perfect temp, sunshine, and kids' voices echoing through the neighborhood. I LOVE Spring! I actually played around with these cards on Saturday and couldn't wait to post them today. I LOVE these dragons! If you want them for yourself, click HERE. His name is Dustin Pike and he just draws for fun. OMWord! Check out his blog before he gets uber popular, I swear he could charge me $5 per dragon and I would run and get my credit card. He offers his digis for free which is music to my ears! I heard about him through Mel who found out about him through some other sweet SCS member...

Here's the first card that I made to celebrate my Izzy's first Easter hunt coming up. He's not even one yet, but he's got a basket ready for his first egg hunt at our church. I even used a chipboard sentiment (yes Marji! I did! I did!) as it was so appropriate for this excited little dragon. Isn't he sooooo adorable? I decided to make him purple and used 4 different purple copic shades on his body alone. (I guess I am still inspired by my Prince card - haha!) I found some DP and ribbon scraps that flowed well with the baby boy theme. See how sunny it is? I didn't even use a flash and there was a glare on the sentiment. haha! And here's another one that I made to honor friendships. This weekend my 3 older kiddos hung out with their best friends. And I say that sincerely because in the military world, you are never in one location long enough to establish true relationships. Since we've been here in VA for almost 4 years, all of their friends this weekend have been in our lives from practically day one! That is sooo cool to me, seeing them all grow up together! Jorge was our next door neighbor at our old house, and even with personal changes in his family life, he is still like a son to us at almost 14yo. He even calls Brown and I 'mom' and 'dad.' My girls swoon over him (haha! He's that cute!) and he treats them better than their own real big brothers. Jay and Ray (yes, they are truly meant to be brothers) have been super close friends from the time they first met in 2005; Nala and Amber were in preschool together and here they are approaching 3rd grade.

The DP and ribbon scraps were part of my dusty stash. I purposely picked a colorful paper as it was perfect for today's fun mood. The scallops kind of imitate the dragon's scales, don't you think? :D I found this sentiment in a Rub On stack - my latest craze - that I got for 98 cents from M's. (It was discounted because the cover was ripped. Yay me!) Thanks for stopping by, I hope this serves as some inspiration to treasure your friendships! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
*Love and Aloha*

I have a question about the digi... do I get the same effect from right clicking and saving image, or is it better to download the link?? Please let me know... Thanks!
