Once Upon A Time...

Hi everyone! I'm so happy you came back to see me because I am excited to share my card/story with you. It doesn't happen often that a card vision actually works out for me. It doesn't help that it's been a while since I've inked up a rubber stamp either, I've been so busy playing with all these wonderful digis! My poor neglected memento pad hadn't seen me in a while. :(

While getting a box of cards ready to send to my mommy back in Hawaii, I came across a waterfall card that I made a loooooong time ago. I used to love doing these, and even made 20 of them as my DD's birth announcements a couple of years ago. If you haven't seen the waterfall technique, click HERE for the tutorial.
The nice element about the waterfall card is that it folds over to reveal different images. Hmmm...so that got me thinking. I woke up bright and early yesterday morning since it was the kids' first day back to school and worked on this card that I have nicknamed Once Upon A Time:
Once upon a time on a gorgeous sunny day, Princess Anya came across an adorable little frog in a pond.

"He's a cutie!" she thought, but remembered the enchanted story that frogs turn into princes if you kissed them. Believing in her sparkly wand, she muttered the words, "It's magic." She was suddenly surrounded by stars...

...and a handome young Prince named Ian! She was so happy! Now she had someone who she could introduce to her friends back at the castle farm. They lived happily ever after. The End~

haha! Cheap thrills, right? It's the little things in life that make me happy. ;) Here are the deets on my card: I colored all of the images with - you guessed it - copmas. Ian is from the Dress Me set, Froggy is from Down By The Pond and Princess Anya is a single stamp. I sponged the clouds in with a tempting turquoise inked sponge and a handmade template. (Have you noticed how much I'm doing blue skies, green grass, and tranquil water? Somebody please send Spring or Summer this way!)

I hope this brought a smile today, my girls have had the best time playing with this card all morning. Try the waterfall technique if you haven't yet. It's really rewarding, although intimidating or tedious at first. This tutorial was tweaked to fit a 6x6 card since I needed more room for Anya and Ian to reveal their magic story.

Before I go, here are a few more things that I wanted to share. There are so many heart palipitating and wonderful things going on tomorrow (Wednesday the 15th):

*New releases are EVERYWHERE! Get your cowboy hats and head on over to The Greeting Farm for new Anyas and Ians. Then put on your hula skirt and kaholo over to The Digi Shack for an incredible all day 50% off sale. Hurry! It ends at midnight MST!

*We are also going to reveal The Digi Shack's first ever sketch challenge, with a required FREE digi image for you to use. Super duper uber cool of Toni, right? And omword, the image is beautiful. I'll give you a hint - it's near and special to me. Literally! ;)

And in other news:

*Speaking of sketch, don't forget about our own Super Challenge Saturday sketch! You can find the deets HERE. Upload into SCS' gallery under BLOGC7, the one and only talented Maria Bell will be our guest judge this week.

* And finally - the 10 DT members for Modern Sugar Blvd. will be revealed today. Good luck everyone! I am so happy I'm not in Candie's position to decide. If I had a stamp company I'd have, like, 300 members on my DT. haha!

So here's my question for you today - and BE HONEST. Which current teen heartthrob prince do you have a crush on? I {heart} Zac Efron from High School Musical. LOL! I even watched him on SNL on Saturday. There's something so sweet about him and he has a nice tone to his voice. *sigh* Okay, go have a wonderful day!
*Love and Aloha*

The MSB DT call: I noticed everyone had different images also. That makes it even more exciting! You have nothing to worry about for that either! I wonder when she's going to post? I'm about to leave the house just so I stop stalking! :)

Good luck!
