And speaking of good stuff, how addicting are digi stamps? Don't get me wrong, I love buying real stamps (just check my paypal account for proof) but in between my mail delivery, this is gratification. Especially when they are FREE!

Isn't she savvy? She reminds me of my sister Jen! Her name is Shop Girl and she's from a new company called Modern Sugar Blvd. Here's the funny part - I found out about her through Rachel who found out about her through Anita. I followed their links and discovered that not only is she a free digi, but she was a requirement for their new DT call that ends on April 8th. (Where have I been this whole time? I really must get out there and start exploring the crafting internet world a bit more...)
Long story short, I decided to play around with her during the kiddos' nap and quiet time, and came up with this:
What do you think? It's made with one of many hoarded unfinished wood products that I've pledged to alter and give away to friends. This was so simple to do, I just traced the template on to the Fresh Print DP, cut, and then scalloped the handles with scissors. She has stickles on her scarf and crystal effects on her boots, and was colored with my 'copmas' (copics and prismas, they're all family here in my house). I am really loving my oops purchase - I accidentally ordered GinaK.'s 80# cs in ivory instead of white which makes a subtle difference. I added in some goodies just so I could show the scale of this altered project (stay tuned, more on that in the next paragraph).
Since I'm new to all this DT stuff, I am not sure how I will fare with this entry. It was definitely worth my time though as I have so many friends whose birthdays are coming up AND did I mention she was free? haha! Win-win situation! Joni, your project is absolutely wonderful! Good luck with the DT call! Funny thing is, I live only 15 minutes from the Gina K store and I went there the other day to buy 2 packages of white cardstock and when I got home I had 1 pack of white and one of vanilla...oops.

Cool! I just downloaded my first digi image today and played with it. Not as much fun as stamping...but close! :-) Never mind that I probably still own stamps that have never even been inked up! It's not like I have a shortage! I hope you get chosen - it's an adorable project.
