It's Aloha Friday!

Hi everyone! The long weekend is here, woot woot! :D DH is off today and Monday, so we are looking forward to detailing the yard (stamping), just relaxing (stamping), grilling (stamping), and hanging out with the kiddos (stamping). teehee! As well as a few not so subtle hints as to what I want to do. ;)
To celebrate Memorial Day weekend I wanted to use my newest Anya from The Greeting Farm. She's soooo sweet! I was excited that Marie payed homage to Hawaiian culture, and she did a wonderful job. Hula dancers braid their hair the night (or nights) before a performance so it's all bushy and wavy. Her haku (garland of flowers around her head) is so pretty too so I wanted this card to be really bright and fun, just like home. :D

Here is a closer look at Anya:
Her coconut bra is flocked and I layered on her hula skirt to give it more sway. Anya is concentrating pretty hard, isn't she? haha!

I wish you all a safe and nice long weekend. I am paying tribute to my daddy who also spent time in the military. This month marks his 13th year since he left us but I am surrounded by his presence all the time, especially when I'm around my children. :D And speaking of, my sister and I joined Skype so now we call every morning on the computer and laugh hysterically while watching each other. It's such a great way for my mom to see her grandkids, and Izzy loves it when she plays peek-a-boo with him. Isn't technology amazing? :D Have a wonderful Friday everyone!
*Love and Aloha*

Oh, Joni, this is so adorable. I am so glad I found your blog. You truly inspire. And thanks for your comments on my blog. I should add what you said about Grandma Cook, the kind of woman I want to be when I'm her age. And what did you mean small world about illustrating for TSG? Do you do that too? Which ones? I'd love to see. I have more sets coming up, one next week, through another company. I can't wait. Have a great long weekend.

love the card. and I know what you mean. other then this morning to run to the local scrapbook store I don't plan on doing anything but stamping away.

plus, Monday we get to go to my mil's. Which is the best because that means I get to play in her scrap room.

That is super cute girl! It just totally brightened my day! Haha, I used to get on the video cam all the time with my parents when they lived in FL. It's an awesome way for the grandkids to be close to them if they are far away. And as soon as they moved out here, there was no awkward getting to know you phase b/c they already knew them so well over the computer! Love technology!
