Late Monday evening I came across my friend Heather's blog about a little boy named Ethan Weiman who lost his 2 year battle with neuroblastoma. You can read more on Alicia's blog HERE (Ethan's mom) about his brave journey through cancer.
Pink cat Studio has released this new digital stamp set in Ethan's honor, all proceeds go to their Make A Wish chapter to fulfill other childrens' wishes:
You can purchase this set, see a picture of Ethan, and read a beautiful excerpt written by his mom HERE on Pink Cat Studio's blog. The digital images are $4 each (one image + a sentiment) or $6 for the entire set. At this time of posting, they reached over $800 in sales!
I made the card with the idea of creating a scene, the newest challenge by Dare U 2 Digi's blogspot. I also fulfilled the requirement for using up your scraps for this week's Digital Tuesday Challenge site. The more challenges I could incorporate into one card, the more exposure this adorable set would get.
Supplies used:
distressed stripes CB folder on red cs
swiss dots CB folder on green cs
MS picket fence punch
prismacolor markers and copics
(Even my little guy was printed out on a piece of white scrap, I just figured out how to adjust my printer to accept 4x6 cs.)
Closer views:
Since the image was on one side of the card, I balanced out the other side with the sentiment, 3 stars, and blue ribbon loops as I am sure Ethan took first place in everyone's heart. ;) (In Hawaii, the paniolo cowboys also wore palaka prints which look similar to gingham.)
I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful the Make A Wish organization is. We were blessed (and spoiled) by them a year and a half ago on our trip to Disney World.
Please pass this word along, Heather is also doing a giveaway to anyone who purchases this stamp set, you can read more details HERE on her blog (please scroll through her blog, she has consecutive announcements regarding this special release.)
Thank you all for stopping by, have a wonderful day!
*Love and Aloha*
