The Pink Elephant's Copic spotlight

Happy Saturday everyone!
This is a double duty post for both TPE and Die Cuts R Us - two of my favorite spots to hang out at.
Lori Boyd {owner of The Pink Elephant} designs the adorable line of C&Co. Sugar Sticks, Lollipops and Puddle Jumpers stamps and wanted us to post some of our favorite Copic tips.
DCRU is having a major Copic sale from August 20th-28th and YOU are the lucky one to benefit!
I'm not certified and definitely not an expert but I do love my growing supply of Copics! This sweet image named Lacie {found HERE} was colored with the following Copics:
Face: E00, E31, E95 for cheeks (shows up better on darker complexions)
Hair: 100, N7, N4

Here is the card in its entirety using DCWV's Grade School 6x6 pack, C& Co. sentiment and Lily image:

Here are some of my tips:
♥ I don't own all the copics but I LOVE playing around with different colors. I've paired the craziest combination and had the neatest results!
♥ Now I know many people do it differently, but I color from DARKEST to LIGHTEST first on everything except the face. I haven't quite mastered that down yet. It was a tip I got from my blogging friend Alfred a long time ago. He does anime and has taken multiple classes from Marianne Walker.
♥ If there are areas on my image that I would like to shade but don't have the right Copic to do so, I take a gray marker and go over that color. (By the way, I am so excited that I get to meet Suzanne Dean next month at a Northern VA get together! I will definitely post pics and tips she gives us!)
♥ Here is one of my favorite tutorials from You Tube - I love it because she doesn't use a whole lot of copics, but gets the most amazing results. (She's also very humble sounding despite her mad skills!!)

What are you waiting for? Head on over to DCRU for these amazing prices:
$2.99 for Ciaos
$4.25 for Sketch
$4.90 for Refills

And please visit the TPE blog to see the other adorable samples by Ella's girls. Thank you for coming by today! Have a wonderful Saturday everyone. ♥
