A funny story...

I ain't "lion" either! heehee! HAPPY Thursday everyone! Before I tell you my true story, I wanted to introduce this cutie baby lion from Whimsie Doodles. Isn't he adorable? I love Melyssa's images, they have so much personality. This was part of her new releases for April, you can find all the sweet circus characters here at the Whimsie Doodles store. For this card I used the current sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches:

I am also entering these fun challenges:

Okay,  now on to the story:
Rewind back to the early 90s when Brown and I began dating. For our first movie date I really wanted to see Lion King, Disney's 32nd movie, on opening night. Of course he wanted to impress me so he drove the 30 minute drive from his place to stand in line for almost 2 hours for tickets at a theater in Waikiki, then drove the 30 minutes back home to get ready for our date. There we were, in a sold out theater to see Lion King - how exciting! Disney's 32nd movie! But then I noticed he was a bit agitated when I asked if we were getting refreshments. Regardless, he bought popcorn and sodas; as we settled in to our seats, he was really quiet.
Previews began, then finally, the actual movie. If any of you are familiar with this wonderful classic, then you know that the beginning shows baby Simba held up by Rafiki during the song "Circle Of Life." Soon after, the screen goes black before the actual story unfolds.
Imagine my surprise when Brown STOOD up, and asked if I was ready to leave! To leave?!? I was in shock! The movie started up again and he sat back down with a confused look on his face. "What is this movie again?" he asked me.
I answered, "Lion King."
"No, no, no that other part you kept saying," he whispered.
I said, "Um, Disney's 32nd film?"
And then he started laughing. Really hard. Finally he said, "Joni, I thought you were saying Disney's thirty-second movie." All the time spent traveling, standing in line, and ordering overpriced snacks just to woo me, for what he thought was a half minute film!
Obviously that Disney classic holds a special place in our hearts as it was Kalil's favorite when he was little. And if you want more proof, just ask our oldest daughter...whose name happens to be Nala. ;)
Have a beautiful day everyone, I'd love for you to share your funny memories too!

♥ & Aloha,
