"Please let my cake be chocolate..."

Haha! :D Isn't this the funniest picture of Isiah? He was actually clapping and I happened to catch him with his eyes closed. I was giggling typing out the title of the post, just because it was so appropriate. Either that or he's saying, "Please help me get through this day with all these crazy people in my house!!" LOL!

And speaking of cake, I wanted to show you what we're all partying about all week long over on Modern Sugar Blvd. Remember all the sneaky peekys? Well here is my image in her entirety:

Isn't she pretty? Her name is In The Garden Gal. She's so classy, I keep thinking of Bree Van De Kamp from Desperate Housewives. haha! (Okay, for all you DHW buffs, aka Bree Hodge.)
Remember me mentioning that image I kept resizing? It's that adorable flower pot! The actual size that comes to scale with this image is the one with the red flowers. I printed it out in various sizes so she could have a container garden.

Here's a wider view of my project. It is a holder that I altered as my MIL's mother's day gift for her gardening magazines. :D These are also sold at Michaels in the unfinished wood section near the other magazine holders that I love. I chose this style because I wanted a taller and more solid pallette to work on with this image. I covered the entire piece wtih leftover DP (from my Mary Kay invites) and then hand cut white cardstock to imitate lattice. She's colored in copics, adorned with pearls and primas, and popped up on dimensionals along with a chosen few of the terra cotta pots. Go and visit Rachel, Mary, Georgia and Sharon for more amazing samples using this digi image!
You can find In the Garden Gal HERE at MSB's new store today starting at Noon MST. And stay tuned, there's also another set of gals being released on Friday and Sunday. The other image that I have is pending a release, so while you won't see any more sneak peeks here on my blog, I will be sure to direct you to the other Sugars who have them!
There's also a current challenge going on over at MSB's blog. Join in on the fun with Shop Girl, the original image that they released for the DT call. The Sugar candy for the winner is sweet!
Thank you for popping by, have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

It's Money Saving Monday and TGF announcement!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope your weekend went well and that you had time to do things that you enjoyed.
There's a lot of fun going on this week for me: the kiddos are home for 2 extra days, it's supposed to snow, AND I have a contest going on all week regarding The Greeting Farm. Every day from now until Friday I will post a question here regarding this wonderful stamp company. Answers can be found either in Marie's exclusive (okay, sorry - I couldn't resist) interview here OR somewhere on her website. Send all of your answers in ONE email to astickysituation@hotmail.com by Friday (midnight ET). All correct entries will be entered into a drawing for a free digi image of their choice! Then on Sunday, please join us as TGF celebrates its release party. More details coming soon...Each question will be posted at the very end of each blog entry.
And now for my find of the week:Look at the cool stuff Michaels is now carrying! (Okay, I really should call this "Michaels Savings Monday" but I really do shop at other places.)
They have a new section in their store that has really neat project ideas. I purchased the chipboard books (star and house) for $1 each and plan to alter them as teacher's gifts. They come attached with a jump ring (I was brainstorming with the stars which is why they aren't connected). The binder clips on the left are also a part of their new $1 section but the stamps that I purchased for DD (who wants to make her own Vday cards this year) was on clearance for 50 cents.
They were still unpacking the other merchandise although I did see fun b&w DP packs, coordinating embellishments, chipboard, paper buttons, and decoratively cut paper pieces. (By the way, this is not in the usual holiday $ bin area. Our Michaels has theirs set up in an entire aisle after the Wilton/baking section.)
And if you are looking for more CB folders to add to your collection, All That Scraps has many of them on clearance for $2.74. Christine has so many other items on sale as well, it's worth shopping in your pajamas!
I hope you all have a wonderful day, thank you for stopping by.

TGF Question of the day:
Which stamp or stamp set did Marie say was dear to her heart?

It's Money Saving Monday!

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend went well, I know many of us have an extended one today. Those of us in the Inauguration area are off again tomorrow, yippee!
Before I go on to my fun fund finds, here's what I did yesterday. Here's my before and after picture of my Sunday project:

Before the winter break, I made monogrammed notecards for my daughter's current and past teachers. I recieved a call a couple of weeks ago from her 1st grade teacher asking for 30 cards! She is a Mary Kay representative and wanted birthday cards that her customers could redeem for 20% off their order. Dr. T gave me cart blanche, the only requirement was that they had to be pink and white with MK on it. I totaled up my supplies...I had tons of primas and baubles in my stash, but the ribbon, DP, and cs cost me a total of $4! I am soooo glad these are done. Now I can work on other projects.

And here's my woohoo find from my shopping trip:
Here's what I got for a whopping $6! Our Michaels now has their winter dollar bin discounted 70% off. These include the notebooks, magnetic refrigerator paper pads, binder clips, tissue, journals and notecards. (I think 30 cents is a great price to pay for the set of 8 notecards as they already come with envelopes.) I grabbed them in lots of 3 to give as little gifts. I plan to alter some of these and will show you my progress tomorrow. (Btw, if you are wondering, I personally think these designs are not so "wintry" - they are yummy colors with flourishes and flowers. :D)
Hope your day is wonderful and goes by at a great pace. Thank you for stopping in!
