A beautiful Friday, a confused card, and a DT update

Hi everyone! Are you ready for the weekend? It has been such a great spring break here at our house. We've had later bedtimes, later wake-ups, decent weather, tons of friends in and out of our house, and 7 sleepovers for the two older boys - and only 1 has been here at our house. haha! My kind of sleepover!

So here's where I explain my confused card. I tried my hand at a shabby chic contest that is being held over at Digital Tuesday Challenge. Now I am totally familiar with shabby chic, just because it's the very type that makes my DH cringe. ;) (I happen to think it's a great design for a cottage, weekend getaway, beach house sort of look though.) But how do I translate that on to a card? Well, here was my confused attempt:

See? TOTALLY confused! I completely missed the shabby chic, didn't I? It's like hummingbird-meets-Victorian design. Ugh. Even my hummingbird looks like he doesn't want to be there! The one requirement was to use a digi image on the card.

I got this adorable FREE (<---one of my favorite words!) hummingbird from squigglefly and ran him off twice so I could add depth to his wings. Then I pieced the rose twice and popped both up on dimensionals. Oh well, back to the drawing board, I do have another idea in mind, hope this time it works. haha!

And now for the DT update: I am up to TWO winners! :D Yay you! I will be drawing all the names on Wednesday, the 15th. If you haven't entered my wishful thinking blog giveaway, click HERE to add your name in the drawing, you have plenty of time!
Please stop by tomorrow for Super Challenge Saturday. I have an incredible sketch by a wonderful and renowned stamper who, by the way, will also be a guest judge! Woohoo! I fell in love with her card layout, the possibilities go on forever. See? Now I know you'll stop by to see what I'm talking about. :D Have a wonderful Friday everyone!
*Love and Aloha*
