To jump start our Monday, let's celebrate Modern Sugar Blvd.'s big debut! They will be opening their store at 12pm MST today, with select images that the DT has been sneak peeking (or is it sneaking peek? something like that) and revealing in their blogs.
The images are fun, sassy, cool...think 1950's housewife meets modern hip mom. They are fun to color in and paper piece, which gives them an added touch of personality.
The store will be releasing the following images today:
Blog Gal, Cake Gal, & In the Kitchen Gal.
Here are the Sugars (<---the name of the DT, haha! How appropriate for my love of desserts!) who have the current releases for today: *Crystal *Anita *Michele *Dee *Melissa *Mandy *Tenia *Wendy *Sue
Go and check out their blogs...fun stuff, right? I will keep you posted on the other new releases for the rest of the week (Wed. Fri. & Sun.), I promise! :D And I will also show my two images in its entirety the day before.
Now for the personal stuff: this is an extra special week because it leads into my DS' 1st birthday. Yes, Izzy will be a year old on Saturday! I cannot believe how quickly children grow up. :( He's like my little sprout on Miracle-Gro.
I wanted to share a card that I made for him using Rescue Ian from The Greeting Farm. A dear friend of mine gave him a ride-on fire truck for his birthday so I made this card to eventually put in his scrapbook:
Here he is on his Fisher Price fire truck, it's the first thing he does when he wakes up now:
Isn't he a cutie pie (I meant Ian, because I am already biased to Izzy - haha!)? Now here's the story behind this card. Izzy's older sister has a stuffed girl kitty that she totes around the house. He LOVES this cat, but Lehana is always afraid that he'll drool all over it, so he only gets to play with it when she's: a) not looking b) sleeping c) in a really good mood. haha! So I thought it would be fun for Ian to rescue this kitty and have it all to himself. :D I'm always earth conscious (I recycle like a mad woman!) so I wanted to use some recycled stuff on my card in honor of Earth Day on the 22nd. Aside from the extra scraps that I used for this card, guess what that tree foliage is made from? An empty tissue box! I cut out larger parts of the box before recycling it. This one was perfect as it had different swirly shades of green. Boy, that material is tricky to punch out, I used a Marvy giga on it (didn't want to risk breaking my nesties) and it took some muscle to get it done.
Thank you for stopping by to see me! Until soon, have a wonderful day everyone! Pop back in later today to welcome Modern Sugar Blvd. into the digi world and then tomorrow for more fun cards made with digis. They're taking over my computer! :D
*Love and Aloha*
