My Space

Welcome to my playground where I create, color with the kiddos, make a mess, and relax when the family is asleep. Please visit the other ladies (posted above) to see some incredible rooms and inspiring ideas.
My space is in our unfinished garage with only a tiny window that is nowhere near my area (thus the different lighting in pictures). I've also added little notes to go along with the pictures, everything that I own has some meaning or sentimental story.
I love to re-purpose things from yard sales, everything marked with an asterisk (*) was free, either from Craigslist (pre-problem era), saved from the trash <---DH is cringing as I type that, or given to me by a friend who knows how I love to recycle. ;)
Feel free to ask (or question - haha!) anything and I will be sure to reply back to you via your blog or email. On to my mismatched haven:
************************
$20 for 3 bookshelves from Craigslist
I store most of my things in Michaels' photoboxes, baskets, or plastic containers from dollar stores
My DT, swaps, and project files (49 cents for 4 folders from M's!)
One of my many yard sale finds, a $20 teak organizer that was made in Bali. It holds some of my overstock of embellishments and chipboard

My cart - primas, paper scraps, and punches. 34 year old Berkley on the right - my mascot :D I could get a real trashcan, but this was the last box of medication that came for Maali when she was undergoing chemotherapy. It reminds me of the important things in life!

A $15 kitchen island (yard sale) that I use for my cutting. Top drawer has all my nesties and CB folders, plates, dies. {In the background is our extra freezer, DDs' dress up station, rack of countless board games, and Little Tykes furniture. What an eyeful. ;)}

* (<--yes FREE) Paper Storage Racks, owner of an LSS sold her business and gave these away, first come, first serve. I should have taken all 40 of them, right? And used them as blog candy giveaway. lol!
$25 Thrift store find - an IKEA wardrobe that keeps me sane and houses all of my extras and alterables.

My desktop - cluttered to some, but convenient to me. :D Since I am in a garage there are no shelves. Pegboard is my cheap choice - at $5 a sheet (2 shown here) it is convenient, interchangeable, and easy to install. Although I need new ribbon storage, my former co-worker at Michaels gives me these empty ribbon display boxes. Free is good. :D

My most used copics and prismas, the holders are just altered fruit cans.

My embelli holder - a $3 spice rack from a yard sale. Some of my embellishments are scented like oregano. lol! JK!

My girls' creative space. Very clean right now, they were asleep. ;)

View from the kids' side of the playroom. Fun pillows, rug and Cuttlebug green blanket are from IKEA. :D

Thank you all for coming by! Enjoy some refreshments on your way out. teehee! ;)
Have a wonderul day everyone~
*Love and Aloha*

OMGoodness Joni! I love your craft room! I can see myself in your room, it's just what I would do if I had the space! All the free and cheap stuff from yard sales is right up my alley. And the fact that you have your kids' playspace RIGHT by your stuff, perfect! I would so do that! Thanks for some great ideas. I think I may be bringing up some bookcases that are downstairs... And the spice rack is perfect too!

I was reminded that I need to visit some of my neglected friends while I was over reading and commenting on Stef's blog (glitterbabe). What a fantastic "Play" area you have created for yourself.

What a sweet room you have. I'm a big yard sale fan, too. DH and I furnished our first apt. with $150 worth of garage sale items.

WOW...so organized and neat! Puts my space to shame. I'm going to check out all the rooms on the tour today as we've decided to convert our dining room into a craft studio for me...so I've basically got a blank slate and I've got no idea what to do! All I know is that I'm going to have a huge counter LOL
