Hi Ho Silver, It's Thursday!!

Hi everyone and a big woot woot to my trash collectors who work so hard on Mondays and Thursdays. Yes, we're spoiled here on this military base. They even do our landscaping. ;)
But whenever my DS rolls that big old bin out to the curb w/o the recycling, I know the weekend is upon us!

Okay, but you didn't need to know that, right? ;) But what you do need to know is that today is The Digi Shack's weekly challenge! And this one is a recipe, as Fall approaches I see many of the other challenge sites did the same. Ahhh great minds. lol!

The recipe:

Mix 1 ribbon
add 2 Designer Papers (substituting a Cuttlebug piece is okay)
blend in 3 brads.
Cook up an idea.
Serve and enjoy. haha!

Bet you didn't even know this image existed in the store, eh? Well it is part of bundle called Equine and although Hawaii has tons of beautiful horses and stables, I was inspired by one of my all time favorite movies Sea Biscuit.

I love the latest Get Sketchy layout that I saw on my buddy Ann's blog. I used random scraps of DP leftover from two recent cards, distressed the edge of the darker one, CB'd the caramel cs, and when I was stumped as to what color to use for my base, I happily reached for my clear cardstock.

I have had questions regarding this, it is sooo much fun. I bought mine from the Inky Antics kiosk at GAS, but recently was given some by the wonderful gals at Sheetload/ShortCuts for a Whimsie Doodle cross promotion. (Click on their names to be directed to their sites.)
Clear c/s is a wonderful option if you either don't have a good color match or if you prefer less color on a finished project. Since I had so many elements going on, I didn't want to add any more color.

Here is the side view, just so you can see how I tried to line up the inside to lay flat against the main card front.

The inside - 3 scraps of the same cs and dp as the front. I took the smallest one and turned it into a faux button. This works out well for inserts as it is not bulky and lays flat in the card. (I made a little tut about it here if you are interested.)

I hope you join us this week over at The Digi Shack! There are also some cuuuute images that will be shown at our SNR party on Saturday, the deets will be posted on TDS' blog. Link your recipe card HERE, if you haven't got a TDS image, many of them are on sale for $1 right now!! I can't wait to see what you come up with. ;) Have an incredible Thursday everyone, thank you for coming by. :D

*Love and Aloha*

Wow! This card is so elegant. That horse is soo beautiful, reminds me of the ones my uncle had on his farm. That clear card stock piece is very cool. What is the circle piece behind the horse? That is really neat!

Brendan was just looking at your card, too. His exact words were: "Wow! That is really awesome." - I wish I was able to convey how he said it... um...awe, gaspy.

You know what, I've never seen Sea Biscuit.

Hi Joni
WOW what a fun stamp. I really love this card. My little neice would be over the moon at this card as she loves Horses.
The sketch you piced is just perfect for the idea you went with. WOW it's just so wonderful. I've never used the clear CS so I'm off to go buy some. I've seen it but been a bit scared to use it. You've absolutly inspired me to pick some up.
Great Job Joni - This is a wonderful wonderful(did I say that already :-) ) card.

WOW~what a great card!! I am totally digging the clear cs and need to get me some. I love how the colors and papers look against the clear instead of adding a new color to the mix. Fabulous card!!
